Carry On Tuesday - Prompt #93:
a line from Shakespeare’s best loved play, Romeo and Juliet
parting is such sweet sorrow
Juliet did say
Parting is such sweet sorrow
To sweet Romeo
But their love was not enough
To stave off fateful demise.
Now I say to you
Before you leave me lonely
You’re no Romeo
Life will go on without you
Love of self will walk in hope
Remember Shakespeare
But know your heart is leaving
Without loss to me
Moving to bright tomorrow
Parting is such sweet sorrow

World Peace

Written for Carry on Tuesday Prompt #92
This week, the opening of a love poem by Cortney Kuchta, One Wish
"If I could have just one wish"
(Use any part of it within your poem or prose)
My son is on the right with the sunglasses
If I could have one wish today
T’would be for peace upon our world
For that would surely be the way
To bring my son home flags unfurled.
He’s in Afghanistan right now
Where danger lurks beneath the ground.
Where I.E.D.’s will not allow
A sure safe passage to be found.
Although I am a realist
And know that wars are here to stay
My wish for peace would still persist
If I could have one wish today.

Epiphany of Love
An Etheree Poem - Written for Writer's Island
Prompt #7 for 2011: Epiphany
Thoughts
of you
come rushing
into my mind
awakening me
like an epiphany.
Finally I understand
I need your gentle cashmere touch
upon my skin, and your scent to breathe.
All doubt removed I’m ready to be wed.
but lest you forget, I am a woman
who will always have need to be me,
to live independently free,
to say what I think and feel.
If you will let this be
your epiphany,
then we shall have
a union
blessed with
love.

Beguiled
Written for Writer's Island Prompt #6 for 2011 - Beguile
http://writersisland.wordpress.com/
What is this beguiling tryst
meeting in my murky mist
stirring brain activity
arousing creativity?
Imaginary murmurings
sublimely whispered in my ear
as synaptic syntax scheme
waking from a dormant dream
Daring damsel dance with me
frolicking through fantasy
take my hand and let us fly
creating romance you and I…
Or am I just a foolish child
once more taunted and beguiled
left alone with naught to write
by cruel tantalizing sprite…

Music of Life
(For Carry on Tuesday prompt #91 & OneShot Wednesday)
Life….a symphony
Love….a mellifluous melody
Friendship….a harmony of humanity
Loneliness…..a sonorous silence
Life….a symphony
Love….a mellifluous melody
Friendship….a harmony of humanity
Loneliness…..a sonorous silence
Love life and life will love you back.
Love people and they will love you back.

Procrastination
Death
Bereavement
Funeral gloom
Launched into eternity
Departed from this terrestrial sphere..
But too soon this passing from earth's dwelling,
From those I love and what is to come...I beg a reprieve.

Another World

Come into my world and see what I can see.
Count the many tiles that run ahead of me.
Can you hear the voices calling out my name?
Crashing, clashing spirits dragging clanging chains?
Crying, wailing voices chase me down the hall…
(Clever people say that they’re not there at all)
Creatures great and small climb upon the walls
Climbing all around me…can you see them crawl?
Clocks that tick too loudly beat upon my brain
Could you quiet all the noises, could you take away the pain?
