Celebration

Time to celebrate
For Johnny came marching home
From dreadful war zone.

Safe again, my son
Fills my empty waiting arms
Now I breathe again.

  1. Gloria, hooray, he's home safe!! Please thank you son for his service and let him know that this old leftie pacifist supports the troops 100%. It's his superiors I have problems with. Anyone who dons the uniform gets the respect of more old hippies than you'll know.
Peace, in our time, Amy (and a silly poem)

  4. Thank you all!! This was his third tour and each one has been for a year....and each one I've found myself more anxious. It is definitely a time for celebration having him home. He and his wife have been apart too much! I will pass your words along to him, and thank you again!!!

  5. That is a wonderful way to celebrate! I'm happy for you, Gloria! Oh, how wonderful it is to know that family is a blessing and a gift! :) We all need that reminder every now and then.

Also, thank you so much for visiting my Livejournal and for taking the time to read my poem at http://alotus-poetry.livejournal.com

Blessings to you, your son, and your family! :)

  6. Gloria, so glad he is home. I have a son-in-law who was in Iraq three times. He has six more years, as career army. I pray he won't be sent to another war zone, but that is unlikely.
